    Mercedes-Benz A-class Limousine: design

The A-class Limousine features the latest Mercedes design language that brings it in line with the likes of the E-class facelift and new S-class. What this translates to is that the A-class sports a large front grille, new LED headlamps and taillights, new signature LED DRLs, longer rear doors (compared to the hatchback) and a smooth, well-incorporated roofline that flows into the boot lid.

    Mercedes-Benz A-class Limousine: features

Mercedes is offering the A-class Limousine in a single fully loaded Progressive Line trim. Hence it comes with a twin-screen layout (one 10.25-inch for the infotainment system and one for the instrument cluster) with the latest MBUX infotainment system, connected-car tech and an AI-based voice assistant. There is also dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, powered front seats with memory function and a wireless phone charger among other features that come as standard fitment.

Mercedes-Benz A-class Limousine: engine and gearbox

Power for the A-class sedan is provided by either a petrol or a diesel powertrain. The petrol engine in question is a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol unit (in the A200) that produces 163hp. The diesel on the other hand is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine (in the A200d) developing 150hp. The petrol engine comes paired to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, while the diesel features an 8-speed DCT automatic.

To give its customers added peace of mind, Mercedes offers a 3-year warranty on the A-class Limousine as standard, with an 8-year warranty on the engine and gearbox.

    Mercedes-AMG A35 Limousine

In addition to the standard model, Mercedes has also launched the performance-oriented AMG A35 version of the sedan in India. This model will get some AMG specific styling, including a tweaked front grille and bumpers, sportier alloy wheels, an aggressive rear diffuser, a boot lip spoiler and circular dual-tip exhaust pipes. Though the features on offer remain more or less the same as the standard car.

The main talking point about this version is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that churns out 306hp of power and 400Nm of torque. Gearbox duties are carried out by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and power is sent to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive system. Mercedes-Benz A-class Limousine: rivals

Mercedes-Benz India aims to replace the previously available CLA sedan and A-class hatchback with the new A-class sedan. In terms of competition, as things stand, the A-class Limousine only rivals the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, which is currently priced between Rs 37.90 lakh and Rs 42.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
