Mercedes has just revealed the mid-life refresh for its GLC Coupe. The coupe-SUV has received design tweaks on the exterior and interior, in line with the recently updated Mercedes GLC SUV. The exterior tweaks include a new diamond pattern grille, subtly restyled front and rear bumpers, and new LED headlights and tail-lights.
The new GLC Coupe’s interiors feature a major update in the form of Mercedes' latest MBUX infotainment system, which comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and an option of either a 7.0-inch or 10.3-inch infotainment screen. The rotary dial found on the outgoing car has been replaced by a touchpad, while voice recognition and gesture control is available for hands-free use. The SUV also receives a host of new safety functions, including door exit warnings, adaptive cruise control with active distance keep and active steer assist, and active brake assist.
The GLC Coupe receives new petrol and diesel engines with Mercedes’ 48V mild-hybrid technology. The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine will be available in two states of tune – it will produce 210hp in the GLC200 4Matic and 270hp in the GLC300 4Matic. The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine will be available in three states of tune, with the GLC200d making 163hp, the GLC220d making 194hp, and the GLC300d producing 245hp. Mercedes will also offer dynamic body control suspension with adaptive dampers as an option.
Mercedes offers the current GLC Coupe in India, though only in the sporty AMG 43 iteration. The GLC43 is powered by the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol. Mercedes has made no statement regarding its plans to launch the refreshed GLC Coupe in India. However, the standard Mercedes GLC facelift, revealed at the 2019 Geneva motor show, is headed to India this year.
