MG Cyberster to be the brand’s first Select product

A few months ago, JSW MG Motor India announced an all-new retail channel called MG Select for its more premium offerings. The Cyberster will be the first product to retail via this dealership chain. JSW MG Motor India will initially have 12 Select experience centres across the country, and more will be added gradually.

The Cyberster debuted at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed and was previously showcased as a concept in 2021. The Cyberster is based on a born-electric platform, and it is 4,533mm long, 1,912mm wide and 1,328mm high, with a 2,689mm wheelbase.

The electric sportscar is on sale in many international markets and comes with two options for the battery pack and the motor. The entry-level model is powered by a single rear-axle-mounted 308hp motor; it gets a 64kWh battery and a claimed range of 520km. The range-topping Cyberster has a 77kWh battery pack, with a CLTC-rated range of 580km, its two motors making a combined 544hp and 725Nm.

The Cyberster will come to India as a fully imported unit. However, it is not yet known which powertrain option JSW MG Motor India will bring to our market. The Cyberster will be later joined by the Mifa electric MPV

Expect the prices for the MG Cyberster to range between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). As an electric sportscar, the Cyberster will have no direct rivals in our market, but at that price, it will find itself in the company of BYD Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6
