JSW MG Motor India has showcased the M9 MPV at the ongoing Auto Expo 2025. This will be the second product sold via MG’s new ‘Select’ premium retail network, alongside the Cyberster sportscar, which will go on sale in the coming months. The commercial launch of the MPV is slated for March 2025, and the M9 is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 65 lakh. Pre-bookings have commenced today, though MG Motor says official bookings will start in March, and deliveries will begin in April.

    MG M9: what is it?

The MG M9 is sold as the Mifa 9 abroad. This is its second appearance in India, having been showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo to gauge customer interest. The electric M9 has a front-motor, front-wheel-drive setup with a 90kWh lithium battery. The motor puts out 245hp and 350Nm, while the claimed WLTP range stands at 430km.

The M9 is a large vehicle, stretching the tape at 5.2 metres in length, 2 metres in width, and 1.8 metres in height. For context, it’s even larger than the Carnival and Vellfire. It boasts a typical slab-sided, MPV-like boxy look with an upright nose and a large glass house. The front and rear lighting signatures are quite in-your-face, and there’s also generous use of chrome all around.

Space inside is ample, and the Mifa 9 offers 7- and 8-seater layouts. As with other vehicles in the segment, the Mifa 9 comes very well-loaded. There are goodies like two sunroofs (a single-pane unit for the front and a dual-pane one for the rear), powered front and rear seats with heating, ventilation, massage functions, fold-out ottoman seats, powered rear-sliding doors, twin sunroofs, and rear entertainment screens. Level 2 ADAS is also on offer, says MG Motor India.
