The SUV has mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engine options. Both are 2.0-litre four-cylinder units and come paired with an 8-speed torque convertor automatic that sends power to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive AWD tech. The X3 20 xDrive petrol makes 190hp and 310Nm, while the X3 20d xDrive diesel produces 197hp and 400Nm.

2025 BMW X3 design and size

The fourth-gen X3 measures 4,755mm long (34mm more) and 1,920mm wide (29mm more), though its height is 25mm lower at 1,660mm, and the wheelbase is the same 2,865mm. The new X3 also adopts BMW’s latest design language, previewed by the Vision Neue Klasse X concept.

The SUV features large, clean surfaces and minimal cuts and creases. There’s the typical big, illuminated ‘kidney grille’, which gets diagonal and horizontal slats, along with new slim headlights and double LED ‘ticks’. While there’s no plastic body cladding, the new X3 has wide, well-fleshed-out wheel arches to give it the requisite ruggedness, and it also gets a new design for the alloy wheels.

2025 BMW X3 interior and features

The new X3 gets BMW’s curved display comprising a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 14.9-inch driver display with the iDrive 9 infotainment software first seen on the current X1. It also has a new meshed fabric for the dashboard, newly designed heated Sports Seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Standard features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, park assist, a panoramic sunroof, powered-front seats with ventilation function, four-zone climate control and a reclining rear bench.

Rivals to the BMW X3 include the Mercedes GLC (Rs 76.80 lakh-77.80 lakh), Volvo XC60 (69.90 lakh) and Audi Q5 (66.98 lakh-73.79 lakh).

    All prices, ex-showroom, India.
