MG Motor will take the wraps off the all-new ZS on August 26, but it has partially revealed the SUV, giving us a hint on what to expect. The new ZS will go on sale in Australia first, followed by other markets.

    1. MG ZS will get fresh styling inside out
    2. Will get a new petrol hybrid powertrain option

The new MG ZS gets heavily reworked styling, especially to its nose. However, the fresh look was already out, thanks to spy shots.

The front is now more in line with the new MG models, such as the new MG3 hatchback and the updated HS SUV sold in overseas markets. The next-gen ZS has a wide oval grille with stylish-looking wraparound slim headlamps placed above. The grille gets a honeycomb pattern similar to the newer Audi models.

The side profile has fewer changes, including mildly altered wheel-arch surrounds and a new look for the alloy wheels. The rear has been overhauled with wraparound tail-lamps, a new tailgate, and a restyled bumper.

Besides sharing the teaser, MG has confirmed the new ZS would get a petrol-hybrid powertrain, at least for the Australian market for starters. Other expected powertrain options are a pure petrol engine with turbo-charging and a pure EV.

    Next-gen MG ZS launch timeline

Following Australia, the new ZS SUV will make its way to other countries, including India, sometime next year. MG also has a slightly different-looking version of the ZS on sale in some markets, such as Indonesia, where it sells as the MG VS. It remains to be seen which version makes it to India as the new Astor.

As for new launches, the MG Windsor EV will be shown to the public on September 11 in India, and a price announcement could happen on the same day. Additionally, MG Motor India is readying the Gloster facelift, which could be introduced here by the end of this year.
