The new Renault Duster’s final design has been revealed via a fresh set of patent images that have surfaced online. The global debut of the Duster will take place on November 29, 2023, in Portugal.

    1. New Duster gets fresh underpinnings and powertrain options
    2. Will be bigger than the outgoing model
    3. Expected to get more tech and safety features

    New Renault Duster design details

Patent images confirm that the new Duster is based on the Bigster but has fresh styling cues. While the Bigster concept is 4.6 metres long and is a 3-row SUV, the Duster appears to be more compact and not as stretched out.

The production SUV features a high bonnet line, distinctive Y-shaped headlamps and a slim grille that integrates both headlamps into a single unit. Lower down is a bumper in the shape of a flattened bull-bar, with two vertically positioned air vents placed on either side.

The new Duster is similar in profile to the Bigster, with its squared-off wheel arches, roof rails and spoiler, but what you can also clearly see is that Renault has designed the tapering rear quarter glass to maintain a visual link between the original Duster and this new one. Also part of the design is blacked out ‘B’ and ‘C’ pillars and what looks like a blacked out vertical ‘shadow-line’ below the mirrors. The patent images also show stylish ten-spoke alloy wheels which could be standard on the top variant as well as a distinctive kink in the cladding below the rear doors.

Sharply styled V-shaped tail-lights make the rear stand out, however, what has been watered down are the distinctive rear haunches that were so prominent on the earlier Duster.

New Renault Duster to get three engine options

As reported by us earlier, three new engine options will be available on third-gen Duster internationally. There will an be entry-level 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol; a 140hp, 1.2-litre petrol hybrid; and a 170hp, 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that's flex-fuel compliant in the top variants. At 170hp, it will be the most powerful Duster ever to go into production. Renault India has also spoken about looking at strong hybrids and plug-in hybrids to give the new Duster the efficiency of a diesel that it now misses out on.

    Next-gen Duster India launch details

The new Duster will come to India by 2025, and the 5-seater will be a direct contender in the ever-growing midsize SUV segment that also includes the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Looks very confused and may be mistaken for an initial wooden sculpture than a production ready car. It's rather meek and watered down version of it's predecessor
