Nissan has just launched the Magnite AMT with prices starting from Rs 6.50 lakh, ex-showroom India. Bookings are also now open at Rs 11,000 but do note that the launch prices are introductory and only valid for all bookings made till November 10.
This announcement confirms our earlier report where we predicted the starting price to be around the Rs 6.50 lakh mark, effectively undercutting models like the Exter and Punch AMTs, which are essentially a segment below.
- AMT gearbox on Magnite available across all trims
- Costs between Rs 35,000-50,000 more than equivalent manual trim
- Also available with newly introduced Kuro edition
The AMT gearbox is available across the entire Magnite range – XE, XL, XV, and XV Premium trims – and depending on the trim, it costs Rs 35,000-50,000 more than an equivalent manual variant. The AMT gearbox is also available on the recently introduced Kuro edition. Here's a look at the detailed price list of the Magnite AMT:
Nissan Magnite AMT price (ex-showroom) | |

Nissan Magnite AMT: what’s to know?
The 5-speed AMT gearbox is available with the Magnite's 72hp, 96Nm, 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit. It also comes with a manual mode and Nissan is claiming an ARAI fuel economy figure of 19.70kpl with the new AMT gearbox. The manual variant, meanwhile, has a claimed mileage of 19.35kpl. The AMT variants also get Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and hill start assist function as standard.
The Magnite, therefore, is now available with four powertrain options, the other being the 100hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor mated to 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic. Magnite's sibling, the Kiger, was offered with the 1.0-litre petrol-AMT powertrain right from launch.
Alongside the new AMT gearbox, Nissan has also introduced a new dual-tone blue exterior paint shade with contrasting black roof on the higher-spec XV and XV Premium trims of the Magnite.
Nissan Magnite AMT price vs rivals
The biggest talking point about the Magnite AMT is that it is now the most affordable sub-4m automatic SUV, not only undercutting its sibling, the Kiger, but also the Punch and Exter from a segment below. For reference, prices for the Kiger AMT start at Rs 8.55 lakh for the second-from-base RXT (O) trim.
Meanwhile, the Punch AMT starts at Rs 7.5 lakh for the second-from-base Adventure trim, and the Exter AMT's prices start at Rs 8.09 lakh for the second-from-base S trim. The Magnite, therefore, undercuts all its rivals by at least a lakh, but it's also offered in a more bare-bones spec.
