    Nissan Magnite Kuro: what’s new?

Kuro means black in Japanese and, as such, this edition gets an all-black treatment that extends to the grille, grille surrounds, skid plate, roof rails, door handles, alloy wheels, window accents and the accents in the headlights. The only non-black items on the exterior include the ‘Nissan’, ‘Magnite’ and ‘Kuro’ badges as well as the red brake calipers.

Inside, the roof liner, sun visors, door handles, steering wheel and AC vent surrounds get the black treatment. While it is based on the second-from-top XV trim, the Kuro edition also gets certain features from the top-spec XV Premium trim such as the wireless charger and rear AC vents. Other features on the XV trim include an 8-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control and more.

    Nissan Magnite Kuro powertrain

Under the hood, the Magnite Kuro edition will be available with two engine options – a 72hp, 96Nm, 1.0-litre petrol and a 100hp, 160Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol. Both engines will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the turbo-petrol is also available with a CVT.

    Nissan Magnite Kuro rivals

The Magnite Kuro edition will go head-to-head against the newly launched Renault Kiger Urban Night edition (Rs 8.95 lakh-11.15 lakh). The standard Magnite rivals the Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
