Visually, very little has changed. At the front, there are new LED headlamps that feature HD-Matrix design with detailed optics, and a slightly redesigned bumper with revised air vents. Updates are similar at the rear with new tail lamps and bumper. Both models also get new aero-optimised wheels: 19-inchers for the 4S and 20-inchers for the Turbo.

Inside, updates include software upgrades for the digital driver’s display and infotainment unit, along with two new optional, leather-free interior upholstery packages. Standard features include 14-way adjustable front seats with heating, matrix LED headlamps, four-zone climate control, ambient lighting, front and rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera. The Turbo model additionally gets a head-up display, Bose sound system and a leather interior package.

Based on a new 800V architecture, both models in the Taycan line-up are now more powerful and faster. The most significant updates are to the rear axle motor, which now produces up to 109hp more than before, depending on the model. All motors are lighter and have revised internals for better efficiency and increased power..

In the 4S guise, the Taycan uses a dual motor setup that produces a combined 517hp of power (598hp with Overboost function) and 695Nm of peak torque. The higher-spec Turbo variant also uses a dual motor setup for an output of 707hp (884hp with overboost function) and 890Nm of torque. Both variants use a single-speed transmission for the front axle and a 2-speed transmission for the rear axle; adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard on both variants. The Turbo variant additionally gets Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and Sport Chrono package as standard.

There’s also a new battery with revised cell chemistry. The gross capacity for the larger Performance Battery Plus on the Turbo variant has gone up from 93.4kWh to 105kWh, and the 800V architecture will now be able to recuperate energy at up to 320kW, up by 50kW. Meanwhile, the 4S model gets its battery upgraded to 89kWh from 79.2kWh. Porsche claims a range of 503km to 590km for the 89kWh battery and 579km to 678km for the 105kWh battery, both on the WLTP cycle, and will be providing a 11kW on-board AC charger as standard..
