    Renault partners with Cero Recycling for vehicle scrappage

    With India's vehicle scrappage policy shaping up, manufacturers are now getting on board with their own programmes. Renault has now joined Mahindra as one of the first carmakers to offer a vehicle scrappage scheme, under its new ‘R.E.L.I.V.E’ programme.

    • Available to all prospective Renault customers and for all vehicle makes
    • For scrapping vehicle, Renault to offer additional benefits on new car
    • Currently available in Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru

    Offered in partnership with Cero Recycling, a joint venture between Mahindra Intertrade Ltd. and state-run MSTC, the ‘R.E.L.I.V.E’ programme offer prospective customers the option of scrapping their end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) through Renault’s dealerships. Renault has said that its programme covers both, four- and two-wheelers and will initially be available in Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru.

    Speaking on the announcement, Venkatram Mamillapalle, country CEO andmanaging director, Renault India Operations,said, “We are extremely confident that this partnership will ensure a hassle-free experience for the customers and adoption of better technology and promote safety on the Indian roads in a scientific and environment-friendly manner.”

    Renault’s ‘R.E.L.I.V.E’ programme: what’s the process?

    Renault says that owners of ELVs can bring their vehicles to Renault’s dealerships in the above mentioned locations to avail of the service. Under the programme, ELV owners will be offered a fair scrap value quote for their vehicle, along with addition benefits on purchase of a new Renault, should the owner opt for the service.

    Renault and Cero Recycling will handle the entire process, from vehicle evaluation to de-registration with the RTO, and providethe owner with the Certificate of Deposit/Destruction.

    The carmaker, however, has not revealed the benefits that will be offered on scrappage of four-wheelers,while two-wheeler owners will be offered a special 7.99 percent rate of interest from Renault Finance on purchase of a new car.
