The special edition Slavia comes finished in a matte Carbon Steel exterior paint shade, while the wing mirrors and the door handles are finished in a gloss black shade. The chrome treatment for the grille, fog lamp garnish and window surround, however, have been retained for some contrast.

There, however, aren’t any major changes on the inside – it continues with a dual-tone dashboard and the equipment list is identical to that of the top-spec Style trim. Skoda recently updated the Slavia Style with powered front seats and footwell illumination which, too, are featured on the Slavia Matte Edition.

Under the hood, the Slavia Matte Edition continues with the 115hp, 150Nm 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic, or the 150hp, 250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG gearboxes.

In the midsize sedan segment, only the Volkswagen Virtus has previously been offered in a matte edition variant. The Slavia also rivals the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz.
