Tata Curvv, Curvv EV secure 5-star BNCAP rating

    Every Tata SUV tested by Bharat NCAP so far has received a 5-star safety rating.

    Tata Motors’ Curvv coupe-SUV has been crash tested by Bharat NCAP, and though both the ICE- and EV-powered versions have secured a 5-star safety rating, they have achieved slightly different scores for adult and child occupant protection. For the Curvv ICE, BNCAP tested the diesel Accomplished + A variant, while for the EV they tested the Empowered + A variant with the 55kWh battery.

    The internal combustion-engined Curvv got 29.50 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection (AOP). In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, where the vehicle's speed is 64kph, it got 14.65 out of 16 points. The second part of AOP is the side moveable deformable barrier test, where the SUV scored 14.85 points out of 16.

    As far as child occupant protection (COP) goes, the Curvv scored 43.66 points out of a total of 49. It secured 22.66 out of 24 in the dynamic tests, 12 out of 12 points in CRS installation score, and 9.0 out of 13 in vehicle assessment. These ratings are applicable to the entire ICE line-up of the Tata Curvv.

    The electric coupe-SUV got 30.81 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection (AOP), 15.66 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 15.15 out of 16 in the side moveable deformable barrier test.

    The Curvv EV has a higher AOP score of 30.81/32.

    The Curvv EV’s child occupant protection (COP) score was 44.83 points, out of a total of 49. It secured a dynamic score of 23.83 out of 24, a full 12 out of 12 points in CRS installation, and 9.0 out of 13 in vehicle assessment. These ratings are applicable to the entire Curvv EV line-up, which comes with either a 45kWh or a 55kWh battery pack.
