    Tata Curvv: powertrains

Based on the new ATLAS platform, the Curvv comes with three engine options: a 120hp, 170Nm, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol mill, a 118hp, 1.5-litre diesel unit and Tata’s new 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol ‘Hyperion’ engine that produces 125hp and 225Nm. All three engines come with a 6-speed manual as standard, along with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option. This makes it the only mass-market diesel car in India to offer a dual-clutch auto.

    Tata Curvv: features, safety

The cabin of the Curvv is carried over from the Nexon and Nexon EV, save for a few changes like a dual-tone burgundy and black theme. The dashboard design and centre console are identical, while the four-spoke steering is from the Harrier and Safari.

On the feature front, it packs a segment-first powered tailgate with gesture control, 18-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, reclining rear seat, and ventilated front seats. The Curvv’s safety suite consists of six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, ESC, disc brakes on all four wheels, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and more.

The Curvv goes up against the new Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV, while also serving as an alternative to mid-size SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and Skoda Kushaq.
