On the inside, the Rumion also shares its features list with the Ertiga: a 7-seat configuration, 7-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Arkamys sound system and automatic climate control. In terms of safety, it gets four airbags, ABD with EBD, electronic stability program and seat belt reminders for all seats.

The Rumion is powered by the same 103hp, 137Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine as the Ertiga and is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It also gets a factory-fitted CNG kit and produces 88hp and 121.5Nm in CNG mode and 101hp and 136Nm in petrol mode. Toyota claims the Rumion petrol has a fuel efficiency of up to 20.51kpl, while the CNG returns 26.11km/kg.

When launched, the Rumion will rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (Rs 8.64 lakh-13.08 lakh), Maruti Suzuki XL6 (Rs 11.56 lakh-14.66 lakh) and Kia Carens (Rs 10.45 lakh-18.90 lakh). Expect the Rumion to be priced at a premium of Rs 25,000-50,000.
