To gauge response to its wide range of EVs, Vietnamese carmaker VinFast has brought nearly its entire global portfolio to the ongoing Auto Expo 2025 in New Delhi. The EV maker has also announced that it will begin its India innings with the locally assembled VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs. Here’s a quick look at both these e-SUVs, which VinFast has displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

    VinFast VF 6

The VF 6 is VinFast's likely answer to the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6 and the Tata Curvv EV. Expected to launch in two variants – Eco and Plus – the VF 6 is a five-seat SUV that is 4,238mm long, 1,820mm wide and 1,594mm high with a 2,730mm wheelbase. 17-inch alloy wheels are standard on this crossover-shaped SUV, whose swoopy design is punctuated by a variation of VinFast’s V motif with a slim “grille” and full-width daytime running lights, along with the headlight and fog lamp units placed lower near the bumper. The black cladding running from the front to the rear, as well as the creases and cuts on the bonnet and along the sides, add some musculature to the crossover. The rear looks even edgier, with an almost coupe-like roofline, a spoiler and slim LED tail-lights that also carry the ‘V’ motif and stretch from side to side.

The e-SUV has a 59.6kWh battery pack, similar in capacity to its expected rivals. In the VF 6 Eco variant, the battery has an estimated WLTP range of 399km on a single charge and powers a 178hp, 250Nm front axle-mounted electric motor. In the Plus variant, the same pack has a claimed 381km range and powers a 204hp, 310Nm motor. In terms of features, there’s little that separates the Eco and Plus trims; both get a Level 2 ADAS suite, a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and can receive over-the-air (OTA) updates.

    VinFast VF 7

A Hyundai Tucson-sized 5-seat e-SUV, the VF 7 features an almost swoopy, crossover-like silhouette, sporting light units at the front and rear that form VinFast’s V motifs. Two trims are going to be on offer – Eco and Plus. While both are powered by a 75.3kWh (net) battery pack, the Eco has a single front motor making 204hp and 310Nm of torque; the Plus gets a dual-motor setup that produces a combined 354hp and 500Nm.

VinFast claims a WLTP-rated range of 450km for the VF 7 Eco and 431km for the Plus. Other differences between the two trims include the alloy wheels – Eco gets 19 inchers while Plus gets 20- and 21-inch options – and the size of the infotainment touchscreen – 12.9 inches for the Eco and 15 inches for the Plus. A Level 2 ADAS suite is standard on both. Likely rivals to the VinFast VF 7 are the BYD Atto 3 and the Mahindra XEV 9e.

More details will be announced in the coming months, but we can report that VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 prices will be announced before this year’s festive season.
