Lexus India has announced that it witnessed a 14 percent year-on-year sales growth in the first six months of 2024. However, the company has neither provided a detailed sales split of the individual models nor how much the total sales numbers were for H1 2024.

    1. ES sedan was the highest-selling model with 55 percent share
    2. SUV recorded a growth of 60 percent compared to H1 2023

The company has stated that the locally assembled ES sedan was the highest-selling model in the January-June 2024 period, comprising 55 percent of all sales. Meanwhile, Lexus’ SUV portfolio recorded a 60 percent growth compared to the same period last year.

For reference, other luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW have also recorded positive half-yearly sales growth at 9 percent and 21 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, Audi recorded a half-yearly sales decline of 29 percent due to supply related constraints. An email sent to Lexus India for a detailed sales breakup didn’t elicit any response.

Tanmay Bhattacharya, executive vice president of Lexus India, stated, "The first half of [the] calendar year 2024 has been pivotal for Lexus India, marked by growth and increasing customer trust in the brand. We are thrilled with the positive response from our guests.”

Lexus’ India range comprises the ES sedan, the NX, RX and LX SUVs as well as the LM MPV.
