    3.  Available with TecPac that costs Rs 3,000

A month ago, we exclusively reported about the upcoming launch of a more affordable Chetak variant

The colour LCD on the Chetak 2901 is also found on the Chetak Urbane

While the new variant in the spy images had a monotone LCD, the website shows that the Chetak 2901 gets the same colour LCD as the Chetak Urbane. The new Chetak 2901 has the same design as the rest of the range but misses out on some features.

For instance, the standard Chetak 2901 comes equipped with a set of steel wheels and only one riding mode. The automaker has made extra features available with the TecPac, which unlocks two riding modes (Eco and Sport), a reverse mode, hill-hold assist, alloy wheels, and more. All of this costs just Rs 3,000.

Bajaj has equipped this sub-Rs 1 lakh e-scooter with a full metal body

It is also worth mentioning that the Chetak 2901 gets an off-board charger, just like the Chetak Urbane. Bajaj currently only offers the Chetak Premium with an on-board charger.

Alloy wheels and hill-hold assist are available with TecPac

The most affordable Chetak shares its 2.9 kWh battery with the mid-spec Chetak Urbane. The promised range is 123 km. Bajaj, however, has reduced the top speed to 63 kph. The charging time is also slower; it takes six hours (claimed) to achieve a full charge. The new Bajaj Chetak 2901 is available for Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom India) and rivals the TVS iQube 2.2, Ather Rizta S, and Ola S1 Air.
