The 690 Rally model will be a more versatile off-roader compared to the 690 Enduro R

The KTM 690 Rally will be based on the 690 Enduro R, but it will feature significant revisions to the rider’s triangle, design, and feature set to better suit its intended purpose. While the 690 Enduro R has been designed to excel in aggressive off-road settings. Whereas, the 690 Rally is designed to be more versatile, adapting to both off-road and adventure touring conditions.

The KTM 690 Rally showcases several distinct design changes, particularly at the front, where it features a tall Dakar-style windscreen and a transparent front cowl similar to the 450 Rally Replica. The vertically stacked twin LED lights, with an LED DRL positioned between them, further emphasize its inspired styling.

From the midsection rearward, the KTM 690 Rally closely resembles the 690 Enduro R, featuring the same seat, tail, rear wheel, and swingarm. The only noticeable difference at this end is the presence of passenger footpegs, mounted on custom-made hangers.

The bike also includes two fuel tanks mounted on either side, positioned just between the rider's knees and the engine. Additionally, a third fuel tank is located under the seat, a feature borrowed from the 690 Enduro R. This brings the total number of fuel tanks to three.

Despite the added bodywork and fuel tanks, which will increase the Rally's weight compared to the 148kg 690 Enduro R (without fuel), it will remain significantly lighter than most adventure bikes. As a result, the performance—both on-road and off-road—should remain strong

The 690 Rally will carry the same high displacement 692.7cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the 690 Enduro R, producing 74hp. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox. However, the engine in the 690 Rally is expected to be tuned differently to better align with its long-distance touring and rally-oriented purpose.

Currently, we don’t anticipate KTM launching this high-displacement single-cylinder range in India, though it remains to be seen what decision the brand will make going forward.
