Suzuki Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 recalled in India

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 have been recalled to address an excessive vibration problem. A total of 199 units, produced between August 12, 2019 and March 21, 2021, have been recalled and the company will get in touch with the customers.

The cause of the excessive vibrations has been traced to the improper positioning of the balancer shaft in the engine. This, in turn, may also cause two out of the six nuts holding the tail-light to come loose due to vibrations. However, this may not affect the functioning of the motorcycle in any way, clarifies Suzuki.

Suzuki Motorcycle India will contact owners of the motorcycles that were built in the above mentioned period and rectify the issue at their authorised service center, free of cost. The entire process will take a couple of hours.

That said, with the nation reeling under a second COVID-19 wave and service centres being closed due to lockdowns, expect the issue to be solved only once restrictions are eased.
