BMW is readying multiple new product launches for the Indian market in the coming months. Apart from the facelifted X5 SUV, the X3 M40i, the all-new M2 and the updated Z4, the German brand will also launch the M340i Shadow in the market in the coming weeks.

    1. M340i xDrive Shadow gets more features
    2. No mechanical changes
    3. Expected to be priced around Rs 72 lakh (ex-showroom)

    BMW M340i Shadow: what's different?

The refreshed M340i went on sale last year, with BMW now introducing a slightly enhanced iteration with unique exterior bits and more features. This is expected to be sold alongside the standard M340i. Sources tell us that this trim will be priced at around Rs 72 lakh, which is around Rs 3 lakh more than the standard M340i xDrive.

As part of additional equipment, the M340i Shadow will come with darkened bits on the outside that replace the chrome, especially on the grille and headlamp surrounds, and brake calipers finished in red. It also gets a 360-degree camera, which isn’t available on the standard M340i, and seatbelts that get BMW M pattern.

BMW M340i Shadow powertrain and performance

The M340i Shadow shares the same powertrain as the standard car and continues to be powered by a 3.0-litre, inline-six turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. It produces 374hp and 500Nm, with power being sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It does a claimed 0-100kph sprint in 4.4 seconds.

    BMW M340i Shadow standard features

The M340i Shadow comes with standard 19-inch alloys and a fixed rear wing, and a slightly unique front and rear bumper to differentiate itself from the standard 3 Series sedan. It comes with a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which runs BMW’s eighth-generation iDrive interface. It gets some mechanical upgrades over the standard 3 Series such as a lowered, M-specific suspension, an M Sport differential, M Sport brakes and an M Sport exhaust.
