Images of the Mahindra Thar Roxx’s interior have surfaced online before its August 15th launch. The upcoming 5-door off-roader in the pictures appears to be a mid-spec variant as it lacks a panoramic sunroof, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), 360-degree camera and some other premium features. Still, there’s a decent amount of equipment seen.
Interestingly, Mahindra will offer two types of sunroofs with the Thar Roxx. Carmakers usually offer one type of sunroof or none, depending on the model and the variant.
- Mid-spec Thar Roxx to get larger infotainment touchscreen than Thar 3-door
- Thar 5-door to share steering wheel unit with Mahindra XUV700
- Other features include front and rear armrests, roof-mounted speakers
While the standard Thar and Thar Roxx share the same dashboard – from the passenger-side grab bar to the circular AC vents – the mid-spec version seen in images sports a larger infotainment touchscreen (likely to be a 10.25-inch unit) than the 7-inch one in the 3-door model. This variant also has features such as a standard air-con system, analogue dials with a digital MID and steering-mounted toggles for the infotainment and cruise control systems. Speaking of the steering wheel, Thar Roxx’s is the same as Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV700.
Other noticeable features on the mid-spec Thar Roxx include individual armrests for the front seats, a centre armrest in the reclining rear bench seat, three-point seat belts and adjustable headrests for all five passengers, rear AC vents, roof-mounted rear speakers, power windows, and single-pane sunroof.

The model seen here is a manual gearbox-equipped version without the 4x4 running gear, which will be available on higher variants. Powertrain options for the Thar Roxx will include three engine options: entry-level 1.5-litre diesel, 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol, with the larger two units offering automatic gearbox.
Considering that the prices for the Mahindra Thar 3-door start at Rs 11.35 lakh and go up to Rs 17.60 lakh, the Thar Roxx is expected to cost between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. More details will be revealed as August 15 launch date approaches. Stay tuned.
