Porsche has introduced a slew of new models across the 718, 911 and Taycan range in India. The 718 range sees the addition of the Cayman and Boxster Style Editions, priced at Rs 1.44 crore and 1.48 crore, respectively, while the 911 range has been updated with a new Carrera T variant that’s priced at Rs 1.81 crore. The Taycan range has also been updated with a new GTS model that’s priced at Rs 1.95 crore, all prices ex-showroom, India. Let’s take a closer look at each of them.

Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster Style Editions

The biggest talking point about the 718 Cayman and Boxster Style Editions are their paint schemes. The Cayman comes finished in Arctic Grey with black accents, while the Boxster gets a bright Ruby Star Neo shade with contrasting white details. The contrasting colours are applied in the form of decorative racing stripes on the bonnet and sides, as well as on the 20-inch alloy wheels.

The Style Edition models also gain a leather package, with black leather upholstery and contrasting, chalk-coloured stitching. The door sill panels, meanwhile, are finished in stainless steel. Both models also see the addition of heated steering and seats, two-zone AC and parking assistance.

Under the hood, the 718 Cayman and Boxster Style Editions are powered by the same 300hp, 380Nm, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

    Porsche 911 Carrera T

The new 911 Carrera T slots right in between the base Carrera and the higher-spec Carrera S. It uses the same 385hp, 450Nm, 3.0-litre, flat-six turbo-petrol engine from the base Carrera model, but borrows a few mechanical upgrades from the higher Carrera S.

The 911 Carrera T gets a mechanical rear differential lock from the Carrera S, and can also be optionally specced with rear-wheel steering, which is reserved for variants from Carrera S and above. It’s also 35kg lighter than the base Carrera with an automatic gearbox, thanks to the removal of rear seats, reduced insulation and lightweight glass.

Like the rest of the Carrera line-up, the Carrera T is also offered with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, sending power to the rear wheels.

    Porsche Taycan GTS

The new Taycan GTS neatly slots between the entry-level Taycan 4S and the higher Turbo variants. Compared to the 79.2kWh battery on the Taycan 4S, the Taycan GTS gets a larger 93.4kWh battery pack, similar to the higher Turbo variants. The Taycan GTS produces 590hp of power, can dispatch 0-100kph in 3.7sec, tops out at 250kph and is capable of a claimed 504km (WLTP cycle) between charges.

As with Porsche’s other GTS models, it is marked out by black exterior trim elements and Race-Tex interior upholstery, along with a recalibrated adaptive air suspension for a distinctive dynamic character. It also gets an optional rear-wheel steering system and a panoramic sunroof with ‘Variable Light Control’ that turns the glass from clear to opaque at the press of a button.
