2021 Porsche Macan: what’s new?
The Porsche Macan range now has the standard Macan, the Macan S and the Macan GTS; the Macan Turbo is no longer available. The standard Macan has a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 265hp.
The sporty Macan S packs a meatier 2.9-litre V6 under the bonnet, which produces 380hp, while the top-of-the-line Macan GTS’ 2.9-litre V6 unit pushes out 440hp and 549Nm of torque. The GTS is the most performance-focused variant of the Macan, with torque vectoring, stiffer air springs and a 0-100kph time of 4.3sec.
In addition to the mechanical updates, the refreshed Macan gets a slightly reworked front fascia. The upgrades are more prominent on the inside, with the cabin being thoroughly modernised to bring it in line with the Cayenne and the Panamera.
Porsche Cayenne GTS: what’s new?
The latest Porsche Cayenne GTS has dropped the last iteration’s V6 in favour of a detuned version of the Cayenne Turbo’s 550hp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. In the GTS, the engine puts out 460hp and 620Nm of torque. Being a performance-oriented model, it also sports the Porsche Active Suspension Management and Torque Vectoring Plus system.
On the outside, the Cayenne GTS has dark-tinted LED headlights and LED tail-light bar, black air intakes, side window trims, tailpipes and GTS logos. Notably, the German marque has given the GTS treatment to both, the standard Cayenne as well as the Cayenne Coupe.
Porsche in India
The current-gen Macan first received a facelift back in 2018, and the updated model was launched in India the year after, in the standard and Macan S versions. The upcoming SUV will, then, be the second refresh for the model, before the next-gen Macan goes all electric.
Moving to the Cayenne, the model is available as both, a standard SUV as well as an SUV-coupe in India. The variant line-up spans from the entry-level V6, to the Turbo at the top end. The incoming GTS will slot in below the Turbo in Porsche’s portfolio.
