    1. Tata Curvv diesel DCT will be a 7-speed unit
    2. Will be the only diesel DCT in the segment
    3. Will come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine

Tata Currv diesel DCT will take on Creta, Seltos diesel AT

The Curvv diesel will come with the tried and tested 1.5-litre engine, shared with the Nexon. This is the first time that a mass-market SUV in India will get a diesel-DCT combination. However, this is not entirely new in India as more premium models like the Skoda Kodiaq and Superb have earlier been offered with this combo. Skoda and Volkswagen also offered the Rapid and Vento sedans, respectively, with this configuration. However, other diesel SUVs in the segment, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, are both equipped with torque converter automatics.

    Tata Curvv: powertrain line-up

Tata Motors will go all guns blazing with the Curvv’s powertrain line-up: a 1.2-litre three-pot turbo petrol engine delivering 120hp, a new direct-injection turbo-petrol engine generating 125hp, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with manual and 7-speed DCT options. Additionally, the Curvv will debut with an EV powertrain option from day one. Read more about it here.
