Classic Legends has released a teaser image for a new Jawa 42 that will launch on September 3. This comes soon after the company launched an updated version of its existing Jawa 42 on August 13, so any confusion here is understandable.

To clear the air, the bike that launched on August 13 was an updated version of the existing 42, with most updates focused around the engine. The new motorcycle launching on September 3 is likely to be the second model in the 42 family.
The second Jawa 42 is expected to get the bigger 334cc engine from the new Jawa 350, although it might be in a different state of tune to match the 42’s more youthful identity. Along with the bigger engine, it’s also likely that the bike will see some changes in the chassis department, with more generous dimensions – as was the case with the Jawa 350.
Not a lot can be made out from the teaser image about design details, but the bike appears to be using the same diamond-cut alloys from the 42 Bobber. It also seems that Classic Legends has taken a leaf out of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350’s design book with more youthful graphics that include a large ‘Jawa’ across the fuel tank.
The motorcycle in the images has disc brakes at both ends, and it’s a safe bet to assume that it will have dual-channel ABS. Whether there will also be a more affordable variant with single-channel ABS will be revealed soon.
We will be at the launch of the new Jawa 42 tomorrow, so keep an eye out for all our updates.
