    The latest generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, which is already on sale overseas, was spotted in India for the first time. Interestingly, Toyota did not showcase the off-roader at the Auto Expo 2025. Recently, several videos showed the SUV on a transporter and we have images of both the exterior and the interior. So let’s decode what can be seen.

    Toyota Land Cruiser Prado design details

    Vertical slats on the grille suggest that this is the Prado VX variant. Notable highlights include square LED headlights, a 360-degree camera, 20-inch black alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers and side steps. Notably, the VX variant does not get a sunroof in markets like Australia, but the model spied had one.

    The model gets an all-black interior, a new steering wheel with the ‘TOYOTA’ letter mark, a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment that's likely to be 12.3 inches, a wireless charging pad, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat and AC vents for the second and third rows.

    Toyota Land Cruiser Prado engine details

    In Europe and Japan, the Prado comes with a 2.8-litre diesel engine that makes 204hp and 500Nm. This is the same unit that does duty in the Toyota Fortuner. However, it also gets a 48V mild-hybrid system, which is not available here, and an 8-speed automatic. In the Middle East and North America, Toyota also offers a 2.4-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain that's shared with multiple Toyota and Lexus models globally. 

    Toyota Land Cruiser Prado India launch, price

    We have previously confirmed that the new Prado will launch by late 2025, so this unit could be on its way to Bhutan. It will sit below the Land Cruiser (LC300) in India, which has a Rs 2.10 crore price. The Prado will be sold as a CBU so expect it to be priced between Rs 1.7 crore and Rs 1.95 crore. The Toyota Prado will take on the Land Rover Defender.
