Tata Motors will launch the Sierra SUV in the second half of 2025, reviving an iconic nameplate from the carmaker’s history. It will launch in its electric iteration first, and will be followed by ICE-powered variants. The Sierra EV is expected to use the brand’s Acti.EV architecture, which is essentially Tata's Gen2 EV platform, also underpinning the Curvv EV. While not confirmed, the Sierra EV could get a dual motor setup that will be seen on the Harrier EV, thus enabling an all-wheel drive system. There are, however, no details about the battery or specs yet. As for styling, there are design cues which hark back to the original Sierra SUV, but it has been thoroughly modernized with EV-specific design touches. The Sierra EV will be offered in a 5-seater layout, and a 4-seater variant with ‘lounge seating’ could also be on offer. Like most new Tatas, expect the Sierra EV to come properly loaded with gadgets and gizmos.
