It might be the entry point to Land Rover’s premium Range Rover line, but the Evoque is an icon in its own right. It’s an SUV that’s big on style yet every bit as capable as you’d expect a Rangie to be. The Evoque is available in India with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel mild hybrid engines, and standard-fit all-wheel drive.

It might not be the newest of SUVs around but few models can grab as much attention as a Range Rover Evoque. Though not too different across generations, the Evoque still manages to look like a concept car for the road. The cabin scores high on luxury and everything feels as rich as in bigger Range Rovers, but the removal of all physical controls is a sore point. Rear space remains tight, and rivals have since moved up in size.
The Range Rover Evoque’s 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine isn’t absolutely quiet and isn’t particularly exciting either. However, the engine does give ready access to power when you need it. Evoques with the 2.0 petrol engine are more lively and borderline sporty. What tends to be a spoiler on both versions is the gearbox that fumbles between its nine ratios. The Rangie feels confident at high speeds, and while there is some pitter-patter in town, the suspension does come across as absorbent. What’s more, the Evoque is also adept off-road.
The one hurdle is price, and at Rs 68 lakh (ex showroom), its price is on par with SUVs from the segment above, including Land Rover's other offering, the Discovery Sport.
The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque offers a variety of color options. Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is available in a range of 15 colors. The colors offered in Land Rover Range Rover Evoque are Carpathian Grey, Indus Silver, Loire Blue, Kaikoura Stone, Silicon Silver, Corris Grey, Firenze Red, Santorini Black, Fuji White, Narvik Black, Tribeca Blue Metallic, Corinthian Bronze, Eiger Grey, Moraine Blue and Yulong White.
