After a few recent spy sightings, the Apache RTX 300 adventure bike has been shown at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo. This is TVS' first adventure bike and is also the first model to be powered by the recently showcased 300cc RTX-D4 mill.
- Apache RTX 300’s 299cc engine makes 35hp, 27Nm
- Rolls on 19/17-inch alloy wheels
- RTSX concept previews future TVS supermoto
The Apache RTX 300 is a pukka ADV as far as looks are concerned, with a beak and tall visor at the front, a commanding stance, and spacious seats for both rider and passenger. While this is an all-new bike, the Apache RTX 300’s headlight has a hint of the Ducati Multistrada V4 to it.
The new 299cc engine that powers it is rated for 35hp and 27Nm, and it comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. TVS could offer a quickshifter on the RTX because the bike uses an electronic throttle.
The Apache RTX 300 is a road-biased ADV and rolls on 19/17-inch (F/R) alloy wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres. Suspension is courtesy of a USD fork and monoshock and a single brake disc at either end handles stopping duties.
It gets LED lighting all around, and while the dash isn’t visible, it could be a TFT unit, considering that the Apache RTR 310 and RR 310 both ship with one.
Also on display at the show was a new TVS supermoto concept called the RTSX. In typical supermoto fashion, it has a tall seat, commanding ergos, minimal but angular bodywork and is powered by the same 299cc motor as the Apache RTX 300. However, expect the mapping and gearing to be different on both bikes. One noteworthy point is that the alloy wheels on this RTSX concept are shared with the Apache RTR 310. Currently, the only supermoto that is confirmed to be coming to India is the Bajaj-made KTM 390 SMC R.
