The XC40 Recharge is Volvo’s first all-electric luxury SUV for India, which is based on its petrol-powered counterpart, the XC40 B4. Locally assembled for our market, the XC40 Recharge uses a 78kWh battery pack that powers dual electric motors to produce 408hp and 660Nm. Offering a claimed WLTP range of 418Km, the XC40 Recharge can accept up to 150kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 33 minutes.

Despite its reserved looks, the luxury electric SUV’s performance is quite strong, with a claimed 0-100kph acceleration time of 4.9sec. Its interior hosts a unique 9-inch portrait-style touchscreen system along with feature highlights like the panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS tech. Despite weighing around 2.2 tonnes, the XC40 Recharge offers a planted ride and good handling in the corners.
